Fall Contest: Chronicle, Take Note, Sound of Illinois, New Tradition on Top

A great contest venue and strong performances in the contests made for a memorable convention weekend. When the last echoes had faded, Chronicle was the quartet champion, Take Note had a slot at the International Seniors contest, New Tradition held the chorus trophy, and the Sound of Illinois had earned a bid to the International Chorus contest.

Joliet + South Cook = Will-Cook

Doubtless by now, you’ve all seen the picture with the caption, “Illinois District’s Newest Chapter” on the homepage of the District website. That newest chapter is made up of two of the District’s oldest Chapters, Joliet (1945 and 1955) and South Cook (1948), now merged into a single Will-Cook Chapter.
