Purpose of the award –To select a District Senior Quartet representative to the Mid-Winter International Convention
When is it given — The award is announced after the Friday Night Contest Session unless more than one Senior Quartet attains a score to qualify for the finals.
Who presents the award — The Contest Administrator and the current Vice President of Contest and Judging present the award.
What criteria are used — The Senior Quartet with the highest point total after the Friday night contest session will represent the Illinois District at next year’s Mid-Winter International Convention. In the event that this quartet attains a score to qualify for the finals, it may go on to that contest. Additional Senior Quartets may qualify as wild cards at a later date, subject to International rules.
How is the information obtained –The Contest Administrator(CA) receives the scores for each competitor from the judging panel. The CA enters the scores into the Society Scoring Program. When all scores have been entered, the program sorts the scores and determines placement for each eligible competitor. The OSS (Official Scoring Summary) is then printed.
What is the physical award — No physical award is given.
