Bloomington High School Barbershop Reunion
Who: Former Bloomington (IL) High School Barbershoppers
The Bloomington High School Barbershoppers Reunion will be happening Sept. 25-27th, as part of the Illinois District Fall Convention. We will have a special event that will celebrate the origins of the Youth In Harmony program in the district, as well as one of the first youth barbershop choruses in the nation.
What:
The reunion will be held during the same weekend and be part of the Barbershop Harmony Society Illinois District Fall Convention. The convention will feature a quartet semi-final contest on Friday evening, quartet finals Saturday afternoon, and chorus finals Saturday evening.
The best part: former Bloomington HS and Sound of Illinois chorus director Sam Anliker has agreed to direct the BHS Barbershopper Reunion Chorus in two songs on Saturday evening, following the chorus competition!
Barbershopping has changed tremendously in the last 40 or so years. If you’ve thought about getting back into the hobby, or just want to see some great quartets and choruses, you will have an opportunity to enjoy the company of those of us who love the music, love the hobby, and would love to see the guys we sang with in high school.
When:
Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26
Where:
Contest will be held at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts (BCPA). If you’re interested in registering for the full convention, check out the details here: http://bit.ly/1KyllKi
