
Illinois District’s Newest Chapter
The members of the Joliet and South Cook chapters have voted to merge with each other and, as of last night's combined meeting, have voted to call themselves the Will-Cook Chapter with the new chorus name, Knights of Harmony.

Political Harmony
In a rare display of political compromise, the Democratic governor of Illinois and the Republican mayor of the state capital set partisan differences aside. And it was barbershop that led to this nearly miraculous cease-fire in the middle of a contentious election season.

What a great program idea!
At a Tuesday night rehearsal on August 28 in Belleville, Program VP Bob Cearnal had a great idea. One of the chapter’s members, Steve Martin, was looking for a time and place to “pop the question” to his girl friend.

Training Chapter Leadership
While we may be members of a singing society, we depend on our chapters to give us the framework for a variety of quality singing experiences. That means a chapter needs a few good men to do the grunt work to sustain chapter operations.

SE Illinois Youth in Harmony Festival a Success
The 9th annual Southeastern Illinois Youth in Harmony Festival was a huge success. Hosted by the Coles County Chorus, 250 students from 13 high schools spent a day getting a crash course in four-part harmony.
