Chapter Counselors
In November of 2004, I met with a number of Chapter Counselors, as well as with the Illinois District CSLT Chairman, to identify items of the program that were working well, and those that needed improvements. As a result, In February of 2005, a redefinition of the responsibilities of the Chapter Counselor's role, and reporting requirements were created and communicated to the Chapter Counselors.
While some of the Counselors embraced this change, others did not. As a result there was very little communication regarding the activities of the Chapter Counselors.
Recognizing that the program wasn't taking strides in the direction that I had hoped for, I recently met with various individuals to discuss potential modifications to the program (simplifications), which will all be considered in moving forward with a modified program at sometime in the future.
Due to the failing effectiveness of the program, however, I proposed (at the District Board meeting in March 2006) that the Chapter Counselor program in Illinois be immediately terminated and reevaluated in 2008. The Board agreed.
